• Far and Forever review (Metal Sound)

Heaven Rain is new promising young band comeing from Banja Luka, Republic of Srpska/BiH if you prefer it that way. This piece of metal, titled “Far and Forever” is their debut album, and it’s for sure that they’ve gone forever with this one. Style of this band is a mixture of this and that, but can be best described as Melodic/Power/Progressive metal. Thing that was first to grab my attention were the keyboards. If I’m not mistaken, Goran Bistinac, who plays keyboards is also the man who formed this band few years ago.

  • Can’t Stay Remix 2009 for free download

Posted by on July 8, 2009

Single “Can’t Stay” is now available for free download.

The single features original (taken from Far and Forever LP) and a remix version of the song:
    1. Can’t Stay (RMX by Danny Lou)
    2. Can’t Stay (album version)

According to the band, remix is directed toward discotheques and fancy clubs, places where metal music usually cannot step foot, as a means of a small scale infiltration. Danny Lou did a great job so if you are not 100% metal-oriented, check it out.

This single closes the chapter concerning the original Heaven Rain line-up (it was previously announced that Igor Paspalj and Božidar Šević are no longer in the band, new members are Dražan Pozderović Oskar and Benjamin Simić), and the band now resumes work on a new promo CD which will feature three songs and will serve as a bridge until a successor LP to Far and Forever which was released last year for Moonwolf Records.

  • Far and Forever review (The Metal Observer)

Don’t know about you but I’ve not had many dealings with a Balkan state Metal band but in Bosnians HEAVEN RAIN that’s about to change and I am absolutely delighted in writing that this debut record is nothing short of excellent.

It isn’t perhaps the best start by opening with a brace of instrumentals however the quality is such that it is but a teaser for the rest of the record. ‘’Rain Will Fall Again’’ and the glorious title track are parts reminiscent of HELLOWEEN, EDGUY and most notably KAMELOT. The scything guitar riffs and swirling keyboards attest to the influences but this is no mere copying this is a bold statement of intent and delivered with an audacious flair.

With its foundation firmly planted in the power/melodic metal genres, Heaven Rain, hailing from Banja Luka, Bosnia, have their released their debut album entitled Far and Forever. The band consists of Bozidar Sevic (vocals), Igor Paspalj (guitars), Goran Bastinac (keyboards), Bojan Joksic (bass) and Nebojsa Lakic (drums). Bastinac formed the band in 2006 after studying classical music at the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka. Bastinac lists bands like Nightwish and Sonata Arctica as his role models and the new album definitely reflects some of those influences. His keyboard parts have a classical tone which adds to the symphonic nature of the music. Fast powerful riffs, combined with heavy orchestration and progressive metal overtones makes this a solid first album for the band. The band are also able to slow down the pace effectively with quiet interludes that adds to the dramatic nature of the music.
